Eskrigge Social Research

The best of social care research and practice recognises the significance of people's own experiences, the impact on them of the experiences of others and, at the core, the meaning of events for those who live through them. Eskrigge Social Research (ESR) provides research and consultancy that integrate and apply these key elements in new contexts, involving those who are often the subjects of research as partners.

The director of ESR is Roger Clough, Emeritus Professor of Social Care at Lancaster University. Work is undertaken either by Roger Clough, or by a team selected for a project from people associated with Eskrigge Social Research.

Eskrigge Social Research offers:

  • Research for practice
  • Policy analysis and development
  • Consultancy
  • Enquiry
  • Lectures & conference addresses

ESR has carried out research, evaluation, analysis and policy development for: -

  • national bodies - National Assembly for Wales and Wales Audit Office; Commission for Social Care Inspection;
